Teenage Magazines - Editorials
Choose an editorial and place in the middle of an A4 sheet. Create text boxes around the editorial (or hand write annotations). Use the following questions as prompts to help you analyse the editorial. If the question isn't relevant to your editorial - ignore it! 1. How does the editorial point you to certain features in the magazine? 2. What does the editor do to appear like your friend? 3. Pick out three examples of slang and explain their effect. 4. Is there are PS? If so why? 5. How do the first few words of the editorial aim to draw in the reader? (remember to use quotes in your answer) 6. What photos are included in the editorial? 7. How are they framed and why do you think they are framed this way?(framing means how the model is positioned within the shape of the photograph eg Close up, extreme close up, mid shot etc) 8. Is there anything else that you have noticed? |
