The Blog
Throughout this task, you must maintain a blog using the website www.blogger.com. You must comment on your group's progress, including decisions made, reflections on the production so far and any revisions made as a result. This blog will gain you marks for your planning, reflection, post-production and evaluation. Your blog will be accessed by the external examiner, to whom your URL will be provided, as part of the assessment process, so you should make clear who is responsible for each submission to aid assessment and moderation. Eg if one member of the group is given responsibility for planning costume, when you load up their plans, you must state clearly whose work it is. Your blog must be updated regularly and will be checked accordingly. The dates of uploads to your blog will reflect your time management which is part of the assessment criteria you can't do it all at the end! You must also ensure that all information is presented clearly and uses appropriate media terminology. Your submissions can take the form of text, image (moving or still) or audio recording. Titles of posts Choose a title for each post that makes it clear what the post is about (do NOT use the date.) For example "Preliminary task planning". These titles can be seen in the contents list for the blog and the examiner will refer to them when checking your grade. Setting the timezone From your dashboard, click on the settings option for your blog and choose the formatting tab. Set the timezone at GMT +00:00 London, then click on save at the bottom of the page Details for the examiner In the About Me section of your blog, click on the spanner and screwdriver and add your candidate number and the centre details- 28278 George Spencer Academy. (Choose edit profile from your dashboard or from within your blog) Viewing The default setting for your blog is to show only the 7 most recent posts. If you leave it at this setting, you run the risk of the moderator missing the older posts. To avoid this, go to the Settings option from the dashboard and select the Formatting tab. The first option is to change the number of posts shown. Reset to 500 days. Making your blog easy to understand Use a different colour font for all of your preliminary task posts -this will make it clear for the examiner. |

Blogging
This is taken from students' blogs, although names have been changed. Find examples of what is wrong with this blog.
Jack, rob and me went back to the same place as we were in before and got straight to work, we then went and spoke to our teacher about the ideas we had come up with and how far we had got with our storyboard. After this we went on to finish the brain storm and continue with the storybaord. During the meeting, before we decided on a final idea, we all ahad a wide range of ideas. We took bits from weach of our own ideas and worked as a group to put them in to our final sotryboard idea. I then went off to make a questionnaire to found out what thrillers people like in general. I got this finished and the group had a look and gave me feedback and put some ideas of their own into it. When i had finished the final version i asked some people and wrote down there answers.

Example of a great posting
Look at the blog posting below - why is it a good example?
Audience Research - Questionnaire
It is difficult to gain a representative sample when conducting a questionnaire; if we had a budget we could conduct a questionnaire on a much wider scale which would give a much more representative result. However, in an attempt to gain as wide a sample as possible, each member of our group posted our questionnaire to everyone in our email address books, and ensured we asked members of our family, as well as the standard method of asking students around college. In this way we collectively gained over a hundred replies which we collated and analysed. It seems that thrillers are very popular with all sections of society, although younger viewers (15-20 age group) tend to enjoy the more horror/ thriller hybrid....
